“I draw my inspiration from light reflections and the moods that colour and rhythm can create.”

"My studio (a converted old cow shed) is my sanctuary, a place where all my focus is placed on the canvas in front of me."
Whilst many artists compose their works on easels, Adams paintings are meticulously created laid flat, the reason for this as Adam explains is that the painstaking process of layering the lacquers and varnishes requires a flat surface, time and a steady hand.
"When painting I do find it hard to keep my studio tidy, as all my focus is on the piece in front of me, and I often emerge from the barn covered in as much paint as the canvas! I always love the fact that a finished piece can be born from such chaos! Friends often joke that the clothes I wear to paint in could be hung in a gallery! ... (maybe one day!)"
