My work concentrates on subverting common conceptions of nature. I want to try and show a different, more sinister side of flowers through ambiguous settings and dramatic lighting techniques. I look at unusual and interesting flowers that have an uncanny sense about them as well as more recognisable plants; the distinction between the artificial and the real is slightly blurred and creates unease within the viewer; I intend to make them question whether the malicious persona I have created could actually be real.
