New Independent Artists

As we settle into our new home in Chapel Allerton we are excited to be adding new, local and independent artists to our portfolio. Recently Shelley has been sourcing and meeting some fantastic new talent, who we are excited to unveil to you.

Firstly, we would like to introduce you to Nancy Bergin. Nancy was born in County Kerry, Ireland in 1963 but moved to England at the age of 12. Nancy is now based in Cheshire and is painting full time in her studio at the bottom of her garden painting most days from memories of the countryside and seaside towns of Britain whilst visiting them with her two children. Her biggest influence was the artist Beryl Cook who she once met on by pure chance at a London hotel and this can be seen in her paintings. We chose Nancy’s collection as we are sure, like you, it takes us back to our childhood days and would bring a bit of sunshine to anyone’s wall.

Niko Brown works from her home studio near Truro, Cornwall. Fused glass is almost impossible to recreate identically, so the nature of the process means that you end up with a unique piece every time – that’s the beauty of it! Niko studied jewellery making, lampwork glass bead making, fused glass and silversmithing. She enjoys creating anything she can with glass and loves to experiment with new ideas. We loved Niko’s work for our Gallery. Something creative and different and nothing like we’ve had before. These simple framed pieces start at £60 which makes the ideal gift.

Patricia Davies graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1994 with a BA (Hons) degree in Creative Arts then marched towards training to be a teacher. She taught art in the UK for a year then moved to Burgundy, France to create and open a residential language/art school. Patricia says “I try to create a story or an atmosphere in each picture. The flowers, plants and birds are stylised within a decorative framework. My birds represent harmony, freedom and affection. I am interested in animal behaviour and how their world revolves around survival.”   We love the nature & simplicity of Patricia’s pieces. Perfect for any kitchen/diner, complimented in a fabulous shabby chic frame. These original acrylic and oils are a quirky addition to our portfolio.

We want to make buying art as easy as possible, nothing is too much trouble. Keep checking our website and calling into the Gallery for new artwork added weekly.
