Jeanne works from a log cabin studio situated on farmland in Nidderdale. Her interest in sheep and the countryside provide inspiration for much of her work. Landscapes tend to depict big skies, with paintings of Swaledale reflecting the ever-changing weather endured by the hardy Dalesbred sheep. Other work is inspired by holidays abroad where the focus is on light, shadows and colour with scenes of sea and country, towns and villages.
Jeanne provided a series of silhouette soldiers for Dan Metcalfe’s highly acclaimed ‘Fields of Mud, Seeds of Hope’ installation commemorating the end of WW1, in Ripon Cathedral. The steel figures placed around Ripon for the event are set to remain. The image shown has recently been installed at Lister House, a retirement home for war veterans in Ripon.
