Biography

Having trained as an artist over 30 years ago Stephen Hanson’s work always evolves through traditional techniques with traditional media. Over the many years of constantly evolving as an artist and being always keen to explore new methods of image-making his attention was drawn to the computer as the latest in new tools.

These paintings are created using traditional techniques combined with the new media of Digital Paint, entirely hand-painted using a Wacom Intuos tablet and pen with CORAL PAINTER natural media simulation software. There is no physical artwork and the prints are a strictly limited edition of 195. Giclee prints on high-quality paper.

Hanson has worked as a professional artist for 30 years, taking on commissions often in the areas of children’s book illustration, and feature film animation. He has illustrated many books including NELLY THE MONSTER SITTER by Kes Grey and new covers for Enid Blyton’s THE SECRET SEVEN, as well as writing and illustrating FROOBIE PINK and the NIGHT NOISES. Animation feature film and TV credits include Roald Dahl’s THE BFG, DANGERMOUSE, BALTO and ARTHUR CHRISTMAS and PIRATES in an Adventure with Scientists….and we have saved the best until last… DESPICABLE ME
